Lucy DeVito, daughter of Rhea Perlman and Danny DeVito, is set to welcome a new addition to the family this summer, as confirmed by a representative for the star to TODAY.com.
Announcing her pregnancy at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Feb. 24, Lucy proudly showcased her baby bump. Walking the red carpet alongside her mother, who was nominated with the "Barbie" cast for best movie ensemble, Lucy expressed admiration for her parents' down-to-earth nature.
Reflecting on her upbringing, Lucy praised her parents, stating, “I don’t know anything different, but it was great. They’re amazing parents and they’re in the spotlight of course and everyone knows who they are, but they’re very down to earth people."
Danny, 79, and Perlman, 75, share three children: Lucy, Gracie, 38, and Jake, 36. Despite separating in 2012 after 30 years of marriage, the couple has never filed for divorce and maintains a close relationship.
Perlman shared with People in April 2022, “We’re still separated, but we see each other often, and we’re still a family." She expressed gratitude for their ability to navigate challenges and maintain a strong bond.
Lucy's forthcoming child will mark Danny and Perlman's second grandchild. Their daughter Gracie and her husband Andy Giannakakis welcomed Sinclair Lucille DeVito in 2023.
Perlman discussed the significance of becoming a grandparent on Julia Louis-Dreyfus's "Wiser than Me" podcast in 2023, emphasizing the profound experience of witnessing new life. She expressed awe at the concept of human creation, describing it as "mind-boggling."
