A 35-year-old Hollywood makeup artist is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed multiple times in her home.
Allie Shehorn was attacked in the early morning of May 23 at her Shadow Hills residence by a man just days after she had filed for a restraining order against him, according to friends on a GoFundMe page set up to assist with her medical expenses. Friends described her as a victim of domestic violence, noting that the suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed by police, had been arrested and released shortly before the attack.
Shehorn's film credits include "Rebel Moon," "Family Switch," and "Babylon," according to her IMDb profile. She underwent several surgeries and spent several days in intensive care. As of Tuesday, she had been moved to a different part of the hospital, according to updates from friends on GoFundMe.
Shehorn was initially intubated after surgery, but friends shared photos of her in the following days showing her without breathing tubes.
"Allie is a remarkable person, full of warmth, kindness, and love," the GoFundMe page states. "No one deserves to endure such a traumatic experience, especially someone as compassionate and caring as Allie."
The Los Angeles police and fire departments confirmed that detectives and paramedics responded to a report of a stabbing victim in the Shadow Hills neighborhood shortly after 4:30 a.m. on May 23. The attacker fled before police arrived, according to law enforcement.
The GoFundMe post reveals that Shehorn's alleged attacker is an actor she met on the set of "Rebel Moon," described by her friends as a background actor.
"I knew him firsthand for two years and am still in shock that this happened. This person was part of many people's lives and seemed stable," her friend Jed Dornoff wrote on GoFundMe.
"This came as a surprise to me and others who were close to Allie and him."
On her social media accounts, Shehorn has shared photos of herself working with actors on various film productions, applying makeup and prosthetic features. She also posted images of her intricate sidewalk chalk art.
Dornoff added that Shehorn's alleged attacker was detained by law enforcement in Texas at the Mexican border. The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
