Beyoncé pays $100k to keep trains running an extra hour for fans

Beyoncé generously contributed $100,000 to extend train services by an hour at a recent concert, ensuring the safety and convenience of her fans' journey home.

During the Washington DC stop of her 'Renaissance' world tour on July 6, adverse weather conditions led to a delay in the performance, causing it to run beyond its scheduled time.

Recognizing the potential dilemma faced by many attendees due to the public transport curfew, the singer decided to step in. Beyoncé covered the cost of keeping the train services operational for an additional hour, safeguarding the transportation options for her fans.

As the concert concluded, the Washington DC Metro service declared that its Silver Line would remain operational for the extended period, highlighting that the expenses were covered by the tour. This coverage included the $100,000 required to operate extra trains, maintain access to all 98 stations for passenger exit, and cover other operational expenditures. This initiative ensured that the loyal Beyoncé fans, often referred to as the #BeyHive, could enjoy the post-show celebrations and still commute home comfortably using the Metro.

Switching focus to another aspect of the 'Renaissance' tour, it was noted that Beyoncé initially omitted Lizzo's name from a performance of 'Break My Soul' during a show in Foxborough, Massachusetts. This led some fans to speculate whether this was linked to allegations raised against Lizzo on the same day, which involved accusations of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment.

In a subsequent performance, Beyoncé reintroduced Lizzo's name into the live rendition of the song. During her concert at the FedExField in Maryland on August 5, she included Lizzo's name in the lyrics: "Rosetta Tharpe, Santigold, (Vogue) Bessie Smith, Nina Simone (Vogue), Betty Davis, Solange Knowles. Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowl."

Addressing this situation, Tina Knowles, Beyoncé's mother, clarified that the altered version of the track was unrelated to the allegations. In response to fans' queries, she conveyed, "She also didn't say her own sister's name y'all should really stop."

Tina Knowles was referring to the fact that Solange Knowles, Beyoncé's sister, was also not mentioned in that specific performance. Moreover, Kelly Rowland, a former Destiny's Child bandmate, was also absent from the rendition.
