Allegiant flight avoids mid-air collision over Florida skies

The Federal Aviation Administration is currently investigating a near mid-air collision involving an Allegiant plane during its takeoff from a Florida airport.

Officials have reported that a flight attendant sustained injuries as a result of the pilot's abrupt ascent to avoid a potential collision with another aircraft.

The incident took place when an Allegiant flight departed from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport bound for Lexington, Kentucky, on a Sunday.

A passenger who was onboard shared a video expressing her shaken state after the occurrence, describing the incident as sudden and terrifying.

Subsequently, the flight returned to Fort Lauderdale.

Interestingly, this is the second instance this month where an Allegiant flight encountered difficulties in the skies over Florida.

Earlier, on July 12, during the landing process at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport, a significant bout of turbulence caused injuries to two passengers and two flight attendants on an Allegiant flight.
